Banana plant pups grow from the base of the banana plant
The first important step is to select a pup that is large enough to survive
Do not select Small pups as they won’t have sufficient roots
Select pups that are more than 12 inches (30 cm.) tall
Sever it from the parent with a crow bar then use a shovel to dig the corm
Lift the pup and corm up and away from the mother plant carefully
Your banana pup is now ready to be planted away from the mother plant
Lets remove the extra roots from the pup
Also we can remove the leaves from the pups
Create a small pit of size 2’x 2′ and add compost or rotted manure
Plant the pup at the center of the pit and cover it with soil
Finally irrigate the Banana pup thoroughly
After 45 days, the pup has grown by 2 feets and more leaves have come out
Banana Tree will start flowering after 6 to 8 months based on variety
